Another
kind of hawk
This
one is a Northern Harrier.
Northern
harriers have something of an owl-like face, so they have better hearing than
most hawks. With their white rump patch
(which you can’t see here), they are distinctive as they fly low over prairies
and marshes hunting mostly small mammals.
They’re
not uncommon. They’re in all of North
America at some time of year.
