There were der Weinerschnitzles in California when we were kids in the 1950s and 1960s. They weren't a big draw; not like McDonalds, Taco Bell, Pip's (for hot pastrami sandwiches), and Del Taco; but we went there sometimes. Then we forgot about them for fifty years or so.
While we were on this trip though, we found them again, in San Antonio. Weinerschnitzel! We stopped at one for lunch.
Hot dogs. Chili dogs. Polish dogs. Low prices. Der Weinerschnitzel. We ate there. Really, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Now we're home to Sandpipers.
It's good to be back.
