Make a plan to vote

We did.  We requested mail-in ballots and received them a few days ago.

With all the noise about the postal service this year though, we decided to eliminate the post office variable, and drop off our ballots on the first day of early voting.  We brought food and water along with us, just in case.  We passed some long lines for people voting in person, but the drive-up drop-off for mail-in ballots was fast.  The poll worker took our ballots, looked at our I.D. and signatures, and checked us off the list.  She said they had been very busy all day.  The process was painless and we're sure our votes have been cast.  Every day between now and the election, the day's count will be tallied and added to the pool.  On election night we, and the entire country, will know how Texas voted.

For all the nonsense about what method people use to vote this year, it doesn't have to be difficult, even though some states are making it harder than it needs to be.  That has always puzzled me.  If it is enshrined in our constitution, that the government should be selected by the people, why do some states make it so hard to vote?  Either we're a representative republic, or we're not.  Let's all make sure we vote and prove we are.  Have a plan.  Vote like our future depends on it!
