Thursday

Another high wind day on the Great Plains.

Drove north into a headwind anyway.  We were ready to leave Beaver Dunes.  Yesterday the crosswind was so strong it billowed out the port side slide awning and we had to drive with it flapping for a while.  We tried pulling off on the shoulder and opening the slide into the wind and closing it again.  That didn’t help.  When we got to a small town we made two right turns to point us back to the west, stopped, opened and closed the slide on the lee side of the coach, and that reset the slide awning.  The same thing happened to the awning today when we turned across the wind.

Stopped for the night at Scott State Park in Kansas.

The wind is still blowing but it’s supposed to let up tonight.  We’re right on a lake.  It’s probably nice here.
