Busy moms everywhere rejoice! How many times have you had a sick child and said to yourself “Can Sally have her medicine every 4 hours or every 6 hours? And what time was it when I gave it to her last?” Or you are at the doctor’s office and they ask you what medications you are currently taking and you just can’t remember the names? Luckily for us, Family Med Track has come along to ease our minds and lighten our loads. This app takes all of your family medical information and organizes it and manages it for you. With just a few easy steps, you can enter information for multiple people and even email or print a checklist or history for babysitters, school, or doctors!

There are 4 main features of this app:

1) Reminders – Here you can set medication reminders for each member of your family. Your phone will alert you when it is time to administer a dose of medication. You can also pick a unique notification sound so your medication reminders stand out.

2) History – Enter the medical history for your family members including surgeries and hospitalizations.

3) Conditions/Allergies – This section records allergic reactions, health conditions, and family medical history. You can also indicate the severity of the allergic reactions and health conditions from Mild to Life Threatening.

4) Doctors – List the doctors and their contact information for each family member, including general practitioners as well as specialists.

There are far too many benefits to this app to name here, but there are a few that stand out in my mind. Ultimately it is all about convenience. All of this important information is stored in your phone, which if you are like me, is nearly always with you. Security is always a concern, particularly for sensitive medical information but Family Med Track keeps your information safely stored locally on your device or you have the option of storing it in your secure iCloud account. Each family member is different and keeping all of their information straight can be challenging. This app assists you in safely managing your family’s medications to avoid the risk of accidental overdose, mixing medications that should not be taken together or forgetting an important dose of medication. Finally, it gives me peace of mind to know that in an emergency situation I can access all of my family’s critical medical information with a tap on my device.
