Our
lucky day! (Becky was born on a Friday the 13th.)
The
weather got a little cold last night. 45 degrees.
It
was even cold for the dogs. Henry slept on Judy’s feet, like every other
night. Jesse weaseled her way into Judy’s bag and got to sleep curled up
next to her! We’ve got 40 degree sleeping bags, but maybe that’s a rating
for survival, not comfort. These bags are only comfortable down to 50
degrees. Next time we’ll take the 0 degree bags.
Otherwise,
great weather continues.
Yaupon
berries
Wigeons
in the middle.
Shovelers
in the front.
Red-breasted
merganser.
We
broke camp this morning at a leisurely pace. That means we just made the
check-out time of noon. We enjoyed our morning coffee and wordle
routine. We couldn’t figure out how to get our coffee just right when
we’re camping without the electric teapot, coffee beans, grinder, and aeropress,
so we just packed it all and have the coffee just like we like it.
:) Hung around the park a little longer. Spotted a white-throated
sparrow (no photo). That’s a good score. Heard a clapper rail in
the marsh. Found a blue-headed vireo at the rest stop on the way south.
Now
we’re home and unpacked, gear all put away, ready for the next trip.
