Remember
my ramblings about electric trucks?
They’ll require extra battery power for the extra weight they pull. Instead of building a giant truck to hold all
the batteries, just put the extra batteries in each trailer. Every rig will automatically have the right
amount of battery power.
Well,
Airstream has done it. They’ve got a
concept vehicle called the Airstream eStream.
They put solar panels on the roof, a battery pack in the floor, and
motors on the axels. It has about 250
horsepower. It will reduce the drag on
the tow vehicle going down the highway by supplementing the tow vehicle’s
power, and when you get to your destination you can unhook it and walk next to
it while you park it by remote control with your iPad! It can plug in to shore power on the post to
recharge overnight.
