Conner and two friends in Colorado wanted to do a campus visit at the University of Washington in Seattle. Christie, in Edmonds, only lives fifteen miles away from the University and volunteered to host them. She picked them up at the airport and took them home and fed them. Next day, after the campus visit, she learned that one of the kids had a favorite song, so she taught him how to play it on the guitar. Turns out all the kids play the guitar and they all ended up with a free guitar lesson from a music teacher. Best aunt ever!
But
that was just the first day. Day two, Christie’s two sons Kyle and
Cameron, now young adults, post college age but still runners, picked the kids
up and took them out for an hour run on one of their favorite trails. All
three visiting kids are high school runners, so a sea level run was a real
treat, followed by a ferry ride to Kingston for exploring and more
eating. Don’t get a lot of ferry rides in Colorado. Best cousins
ever!
The
kids had a great time. They were all
impressed with U.W. They were
well-fed. And Becky received three worn
out kids back at the airport in Colorado.
