White-tailed deer

We’re used to seeing mule deer in the high country of Colorado.

(Not my photo.)

But lately, in the northern tier of states, we’ve been seeing white-tailed deer.

Mule deer have white rumps, so a person might make a mistake as to whether a deer was a mule deer, or white-tailed.

Unless the deer is doing this.

I think we can safely say this is a white-tailed deer.
