It’s a beautiful day in Colorado

Problem is, this is the warm before the storm day.  Tonight the bottom drops out.  Winter storm warning.  Wind.  Snow.  The temperature dropping to about zero.  We could hunker down for three or four days, but what are we going to do with a little puppy that has to go outside in the middle of every night to pee?  Take her out at zero degrees?

We packed up the bus, got in the car, and drove to Conner’s five K race.

He did great!  Only a few people came in ahead of him.

His goal was to finish in under 20 minutes.

He finished at 19 minutes, 4 seconds!

Yeaa Conner!

We hugged everyone bye, drove back to the bus, hooked up the car, and headed south.

Enjoying the view of the continental divide.

And the sky.

Past Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs.

Past Huerfano, the little cinder cone outside Walsenburg.

And Spanish Peaks.

We left Colorado.

Leaving Colorado map

The forecast for Longmont, where we just left, tomorrow is snow with a high of 29 and a low of 16.  For Raton, NM, where we are tonight, the forecast is a 44 degree high, a low of 23 degrees, and no snow.  We did good.
