A snake in the grass

Literally.

A Texas indigo snake.

He was a little hard to see.

But the one in the road was easy!

Back in the grass.

Indigo snakes are a southern specialty.  They eat small mammals, lizards, frogs, and other snakes, including rattlesnakes.  They’re our longest native snake.  The Texas variety grows up to eight feet long!
