…has an interesting story. It was built in 1881 in the port of Gold Beach, Oregon, on the Rogue River. In its life it served as a coastal freighter, an Arctic whaler, a tow boat, an ocean tug, an Arctic halibut fisher, back to towboat, ocean tug, and was finally retired in 1978 to the spot where she lies now in Gold Beach, Oregon, right where she was built. A distinguished 97 year career.
Meanwhile… We’ve moved north.
We’re at William M. Tugman State Park just north of Coos Bay.
