Doctor’s visit today. We got the ear culture results. No bacterial infection. It was Aspergillus niger. Black mold. But now that we know what it is, it’s already gone. No more infection. No more pain. Her Eustachian tubes are still a mess though. They’re totally plugged, so she is uncomfortable and can’t hear.
Now she’s back on steroids to reduce the inflammation and swelling of the Eustachian tubes. If that pressure can be relieved, she might get some comfort and maybe even a healed eardrum. Maybe in another month…?
