Inner ear infection. Outer ear infection. Pressure. Congestion. Pain. Sleepless nights. Now she can’t hear out of the good ear either. Before, I had to say everything twice. Now I have to *yell* everything twice. She has been messing with this off and on for weeks now. We have been to four different doctors. I ask them to please shoot her, but they keep giving her medicine and sending her home instead.
Now she has a ruptured eardrum. She has had two ear lavages, is taking oral antibiotics, antibiotic eardrops, steroids, decongestants, nasal spray for the eustachian tubes, and pain medication. The change in altitude from sea level to 1,500 feet in Bandera hasn’t been kind to her. Today she put her towel draped head over a steaming sink.
She might be getting better now but we won’t know until she gets off some of the drugs next week.
