North in Interstate 5

A long and winding interstate through the northern California mountains.  Lots of elevation changes.  Lots of gear changes.

Past Mount Shasta.

Past this other thing that’s not Mount Shasta (but it’s a lot closer to the highway).

Oregon.  Medford.  The Medford/Gold Hill KOA.

2015 summer trip map  (You might have to move the map a little to see where we are.)

Fuel is really expensive in California, so instead of tanking up this morning at 3.10 a gallon in California, we drove on into Oregon before we stopped for fuel.  Paid 3.13.  Oh well.  No harm.  We might not have thought the right thing, but at least we were thinking.

Found a rufous hummingbird here at a feeder.
