Are
they cutting leaves and carrying them home? No. They’re stealing
corn kernels from under a bird feeder!
Leaf
cutter ants are gardeners. They don’t eat the leaves they carry
home. They stash them and grow a fungus on them that they then use for
food. This particular colony of ants carrying corn, what can they be
doing, other than making moonshine?
