The end of an era

The choice is simple.  We can continue to work forever so we can afford keep all our stuff, or we can sell the motorhome, simplify our life, and have a long comfortable retirement.  We’re leaning toward option 2.

We’ve looked at downsizing to a smaller RV, something more appropriate for shorter trips, but that’s really difficult to do from the vantage point of the bus.  Anything else is such a compromise.  We’ve decided to just sell the rig and go cold-turkey.  After being RV-free for a while, anything else we look at will seem like a giant step-up.

So the trip we’re on right now is our farewell tour in the bus.  We’ll miss it when it’s gone, but we’re set up so comfortably at Sandpipers, we just don’t need another complete expensive house sitting parked so we can have it for a trip or two each year.  It has been a wonderful run, but it’s time to move on.

As part of this process, we put the Gulf Waters lot up for sale about a month ago.  We accepted an offer on it today.

It’s the end of an era.

It’s the start of a new one.
