…have been practicing not adjusting to Daylight Savings Time. We’re doing a fine job so far.
A follow-up visit with the gastroenterologist today, and I’m informed that, for people with no issues in previous procedures, they generally do not recommend colonoscopies for people after 75 years of age. My next one is due in 10 years, when I’m 78. Unless they change the rules between now and then, I’m done with it!
…and a follow-up on our air-conditioning issue of a couple months back (December). Way back then I discovered that changing out an air filter helped….but it didn’t entirely fix the problem. Then in January it got worse. It just wouldn’t cool unless the air outside was really hot. Our air-conditioning guy had had three shots at it and hadn’t made any progress, so we called a different one. He diagnosed the problem in about 2 minutes. There is a very slow leak and the coolant was low. He’s seen this before. There is a manufacturer’s defect in the guts of the A/C unit, that the manufacturer fixes for free to eliminate the leak. A person could check the coolant and think it was okay if they were looking at the specs for Freon, but air-conditioners don’t use Freon anymore, they use a different refrigerant that requires higher pressure. We were about half-out of fluid. A quick fix at no charge, not even for the refrigerant, and it’s all good again. We can put the thermostat back where we want it. We didn’t have to change our ways.
