A short drive downhill from Santa Fe to Albuquerque for a lunch with Shannon. Shannon is doing most of the New Mexico jobs for Taylor, Roth now. We don’t see much of her in Denver because she lives in Albuquerque. Nice chance for a catch-up visit. Drove on to Las Cruces afterwards.
We’re staying ahead of the storm. Tonight’s low here in Las Cruces, 45 degrees. Tonight’s low in Denver, 5 below. We’ll take the 50 degree difference! It’s getting progressively colder in Denver, and everywhere else we’ve stopped for the night on our way south. The weather is following us.
When you move with a weather system, you can end up with the same weather for days as you stay in the same part of the storm. In our case, we’re staying in the wind line along the front, ahead of the cold. We’ve been driving in high winds for two days straight. But we’ve made it to Interstate 10. We’re through running south. We’re going to hunker down here for a day or two and take whatever the weather brings. Whatever that is, it won’t likely be as brutal as what Colorado is getting. When it *is* time to leave, we’ll either turn left or turn right, east or west. Haven’t decided yet.
When the slides are out, there is lots of room in our house for stuff. When we close the slides to travel, not so much. We pile stuff on the bed. As we were setting up tonight I looked down the hall and saw a little face watching.
Henry looked pretty comfortable there, amongst the junk.
So did Annie.
