Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band

Saturday Night Parade.  An annual tradition.

For 65 years, every summer Saturday night, they play.  All pipers and drummers who happen to be in the area are welcomed.  They have hosted musicians from all over the world.  No pre-arrangement necessary; the only requirement is proper dress.  Show up and play.

At dusk, the band marches down the street.  The crowd follows behind as the band passes and becomes part of the parade.

There were thousands on that little street!

After a pause at the other end of town, the band turns around and marches back again.  With their lights on.

With all the people following back the other way (including us this time) they march back to the town park.  There, they play for another half hour before adjourning to the local pub.  An intoxicating crowd energy.

An historic little town of 11,000 on the shores of Lake Huron.  Nicely done Kincardine, Ontario.
