Cone-free

It has been ten cone-head days for Annie. Today, the stitches came out. The cone is gone. The dog is happy. Now she can get a bath and we can *all* be happy.

The summertime pace continues. A few changes. Ralph and Diane left this morning. Tom and Glori-Ann arrived this afternoon. Jeff and Carol left a couple weeks ago. Pam and Dan are gone. Richard and Kay come and go. Mike and Stephanie moved out last weekend. Mike lived here all the time for a new job. Stephanie and the kids visited on weekends. The school year in Abilene out, the family reunited, they got a house of their own outside Corpus Christi.

Mike and Chris were here when we got here last October and they’re still here. Rosita is on her spot by the corner. Husband Mike gets to come down on the weekends. Chris (bigfoot) and Jan are at their spot down by the boardwalk. Chuck is an owner who spends a lot of time here in the summer. Ron and Julie come and go. The Rodriguezs. There are other owners here, like Bubba, and the family across from him we don’t see much. They just come down in the summer to fish. John and Alice come and go, not in their motorhome, but in their car, since they bought a house on the island.

Lots of renters left the park on Sunday and Monday. More renters pulled in this afternoon. Most sites change occupants once a week. Ron and Linda’s site next to us has someone on it for a month. There are several sites that have families on them for a month or more; Mom and kids staying the whole time at the beach, Dad back and forth between work and family.

It’s mostly young couples here in the summer. Lots of kids. Mostly bumper-pull trailers. We find ourselves explaining rules a lot more than in the winter (don’t feed the gulls)(please put the turtles down), but everyone ends up being really good. Most guests tell us how many times they’ve been here and how much they like it. There are many family traditions of summertime visits to Gulf Waters. We’ll be full for the 4th of July weekend.

My finger hurts. The turtle is fine.
