Got a high-country rain shower that included a little hail.
And Audubon’s yellow-rumped warblers galore!

Last year a momma elk with a calf decided I needed to learn some respect. Well, we’re back in Estes Park, the scene of last year’s confrontation.
Can I find another elk that wants to kick my ass for no reason? Maybe this one?
Sunshine, for the first time since we arrived at the Front Range in Colorado.
See that mountain in the distance? This one.
That’s Long’s Peak. That’s where we’re headed today.
Here is what it looks like from this side this afternoon.
We’re at Elk Meadow RV Park.
3,053 to Fairbanks!
Judy and I have been to REI to pick up some cold weather gear. There isn’t much of that available in South Texas, so we waited until Colorado to get it. The weather cooperated to make that seem like a good idea; it was in the thirties with drizzle all day, turning to snow. More snow tonight and major accumulation in the mountains.
Here is Henry sporting his raincoat and muttlucks before this evening’s snow.
Tonight’s dessert, compliments of Teigan and her friend Elise.
