Yaaaaay Alex

State Gymnastics Championships on Saturday.

There are 6 events.  The way the scoring works is a 10 point system.  If you do all the required skills for an event, with no deductions, you score a perfect 10.  A total score of 60 is pretty good.  If you add bonus moves (higher difficulty) to your routine, you get bonus points, but you still get marked down for any deductions.  If you don’t do your bonus moves well, you can end up with a lower score than if you didn’t try them at all.

His scores were:

10.2

9.0

11.4

11.5

10.5

12.7

All-around total 65.3.  A new personal best.

Level 7 results:

Vault – Alex Taylor, State Champion

Floor – Alex Taylor, State Champion

Pommel – Alex Taylor, State Champion

Parallel Bars – Alex Taylor, Runner-up

All around – Alex Taylor, State Champion

A walk in the park

But we have to be careful where we walk on this rainy weekend.

Don’t want to step on a duck!

We drove to Houston

…past wildflowers galore.

A lunch stop north of Victoria.

Our place for the next few days, Westlake RV Park.

Black bellied whistling ducks flying in flocks overhead; each whistling to the other to keep up; finding the perfect spot to settle down for the night.

Okay,

I got the permissions fixed on the map link.  It should work now.

Judy got her stitches out.  The doctor is done with her.  He smoothed out a lot of stuff inside her knee; arthritis, cartilage, and meniscus.  She’ll finish physical therapy, and if it’s still a little sore to walk, just walk anyway.

It feels good being back in the RV.  We haven’t stayed in it since last October.  We’re going to stay out longer.
