We
see them every time we come through here, but we haven’t been through here in
years, so we had to route ourselves this way for a visit. Enjoyed a long
lunch together.

Nice morning light.
Through Ogden, Salt Lake
City, and Provo. That took about two hours. Off to the left to cut
across through Price to Interstate 70.
Hang a left again at Green
River and into Colorado.
We did fill in some blanks
on the Utah map.
Added three
counties. Now they all touch.
Here for the night at
Colorado River State Park.

What is all that stuff in the back?
A rack with some things on it.
It looks like water jugs on the side, but they're really skinny.
It took some googling, but here it is.
It's expedition equipment. Tanks for water and fuel that will bolt to the sides of the rack and lock so they won't shake loose or wander off. Supports on the top for the rooftop tent. We talk about driving the motorhome as close as we can get it, unhooking the Jeep, and going the rest of the way in. These people can go the rest of the way in, then stay overnight!
…and their daughter Sophie came later too.
Judy cooked up some tacos and enchiladas.
Johnny and I joined the Army in 1964. While we were on different duty assignments, Johnny and Kent became friends. Johnny introduced Kent to Judy and me in 1968, and the four of us have been friends ever since. For a little while we were all in Southern California at the same time, but we went our separate ways. Later, we all ended up in Boulder, Colorado, and got lots of time together, before we all went our separate ways again. The friendship never gets less important though. We have shared our lives.
Watched Formula 1 racing. Did chores around the house. Laundry. Then got a visit with nephew Jon!
Always good to catch-up with him. We missed Amy this trip. Rain check.
