Trains

And while we were in texas, we found a pretty good yard train. Not live-steam, but a pretty good train.

Health

Another update.

We see the dermatologist at least annually so he can repair the damage we’ve done. For years I saw him once a week, but that was for racquetball. Now we’re back to once or twice a year. He’s always blasting some spot with liquid nitrogen, or cutting something off to take a closer look. In December, he took a sample off Judy, and the biopsy came back positive for basal cell carcinoma. That’s one of the milder forms of skin cancer, but cancer nonetheless. Never like to hear the “C” word.

We returned for the follow-up on Thursday, as instructed, and got the “all clear”. Nice to be “all clear”.

Birds

And to go with the wood duck, (you remember the wood duck, right?), we have the black vulture. Charming fellow. Beautiful in the air. Not quite so pretty close-up.

Numbers

Update. I just talked to my daughter. She doesn’t have the same fixation about numbers I do. Hers is different. She sets her thermostat on prime numbers.

Texas

Sometimes cows are just cows.

And sometimes they’re this.

Beach

While we were in Texas, the laughing gulls had time to go from their winter plumage to their spring plumage.
