Anhinga

 

Usually when we see an anhinga, it’s on a perch, like this.

 

Or this.

 

Sometimes they’re called snake-bird, swimming with just their necks and heads exposed.

 

Occasionally, we get lucky and see one soaring.

 

 

 

 

They look so prehistoric!
