This is not a cumulus cloud

 

 

It’s a smoke cloud from a sugar cane field.

 

When it’s time to harvest a patch of cane, they start by burning it.  That gets rid of the unproductive vegetation, and gives them a lot less mass to sort through to get to the sugar-laden stalks.  It just takes a few hours for a patch of cane to burn, then the sky clears, and the workers go on with the harvest.
