Evening light

Judy and I went to the top of Madera Canyon to listen for night birds.

We scored two lifers:

Mexican whip-poor-will

Whiskered screech-owl

We didn’t see either of them, but we heard them well.

It’s good to add to the life list.  The last time we got a lifer was November 2015.

We’re doing fine on the year count though.  If we saw a new year-bird every day for a year, we’d be done now.  We’re at 365 for 2016.
