We survived

We survived dinner at Ephraim’s in Boulder with John and Kathy Steinbuagh.  Surviving John and Kathy wasn’t the challenge.  One of us decided it would be a good idea to order the “Efrain” Burrito, described in the menu as:

“A real manly meal which includes a variety of our delectables rolled into a large flour tortilla and smothered with who knows what. Decision made exclusively by chef! No exceptions! No exchanges or refunds. Have fun, take a chance and trust Efrain!”

It rates a 10 on the heat scale.  It was a good burrito, but it was painfully hot; off the chart hot.  Were I to do that again, I might ask them to take just a little of the heat off it; maybe make it an 8 instead of a 10.

Most of you don’t know John and Kathy.  I meant to take a photo of us at the table but forgot.  John is our dermatologist and racquetball buddy (with some flyfishing throw in).  He’s still our dermatologist, but no more racquetball since we left Louisville.  Kathy has had a bout with cancer.  It was scary, even for us, and we weren’t the ones going through it.  As scary as it was a year ago though, all of the surgery, radiation, and chemo is done now and she is doing great.  Her hair has grown back a little curlier than I remember.

Now, we’ve moved on to Chatfield State Park.
