Happy Anniversary to us!

Forty-nine years already.

Had morning coffee in the windshield.  Moved to the lawn chairs outside when it had warmed up a little.  REMEMBERED it was our ANNIVERSARY!  There is no hiding from this one.  It’s not like a birthday where one of has to be nice to the other.  We each had to be nice to each other all day long.

We’ve been carefully watching the weather for days.  There are thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes in a swath through Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska.  We’ve put ourselves just over the western edge of all the severe weather alerts so far.  Our weather has been a little blustery, but nothing serious.

Drove a couple hours north on Highway 83.  Past waving fields of grain.  Past Liberal, Kansas.  The question must be asked:  “In the conservative state of Kansas, is Liberal liberal?”  I suspect the question has two answers: “No.”  “And Hell No.”

Passed 2,500 feet in elevation.  That puts us over halfway to Colorado; elevationally speaking.

Stopped for the night at Scott State Park.

Didn’t get the whole park to ourselves this time.  Not a problem.
