We sleep with the blinds closed

…but in the morning, slivers of light slip through.  All winter long, when we wake up in the morning, we can judge the time by the angle of these rays along the north wall of the bedroom.  Except this morning.  We awoke to a blank slate.  The wall was empty.  The morning light was gone.

I looked the other way.  We haven’t reached the vernal equinox yet, but the morning sun has reached our south wall.
