High Island

We’ve been here in fair weather for a week.  Last night it got windy and rainy.  It was cold and blustery this morning.  The change in weather resulted in our first good migrant day.  With kingbirds, vireos, martins, swallows, thrushes, warblers, tanagers, grosbeaks, buntings, and orioles, 35 migrants in one day.  It was great fun.  18 new year-birds just today.

Tomorrow morning we head off for Brazos Bend State Park for a few days.
