The great birding adventure

The big picture – Maine is gorgeous.  We love it here every day.

Collateral benefit – we’re getting lots of birds.  We’ve got 25 year-birds so far this trip and 10 life-birds so far.

The lifers are:

Common Eider

Great black-backed Gull

American Black Duck

Atlantic Puffin

Black Guillemot

Razorbill

Red Phalarope

Leach’s Storm-Petrel

Wilson’s Storm-Petrel

Great Shearwater

We even got pictures of some:

The gull.

The Puffin, of course

Black Guillemot

Razorbill, with chick

Red Phalarope

Wilson’s Storm Petrel (the black one in front)

And Great Shearwater
