Wednesday

There are two ways we describe Brazos Bend State Park.  When we’re arriving, we call it beautiful.  When we’re leaving, it’s painfully beautiful.

Another rainy day driving.  Rained hard all the way through Houston.  Uneventful though.  Drove all the way out of Texas; at mile marker 880!  Crossed into Louisiana.  Lots of water.  Lots of bridges.

Stopped for the night at Sam Houston Jones State Park.

The weather cleared up long enough for us to have a walk around the park.

See the grass underneath the cypress trees?  You wouldn’t want to try walking on it.  It’s water with moss on the top and grass growing out of the moss.

Bald eagle this morning.  Fireflies tonight.
