Big wind last night. We closed a bedroom slide around midnight to cut down on the noise. Moved on this morning. Drove east.
Calm and quiet through eastern Colorado. Got VERY windy from the north in Kansas. Turned south at Garden City to drive with a tailwind and stopped at Beaver Dunes State Park in Oklahoma.
A paradise for off-road vehicles in the dunes. (There aren’t any here now in shoulder season. It’s all quiet.) Not much of a campground but we fit (just).
The dunes are nice,
..but it’s a bit of a challenge to walk the sandy 4-wheeler trails.
Not very birdy. Interesting to see once. We’ll move on in the morning.
