Birds

We see lots of birds in Texas, but we don’t see all the birds there are.  Birds are regional, so it’s easier to see some of them by *not* being in Texas.  Since we’ve been on our trip out of Texas this year, we’ve gotten:

  Prairie Falcon

  Evening Grosbeak

  Juniper Titmouse

  Mountain Chickadee

  Black-capped Chickadee

  Calliope Hummingbird

  Black-billed Magpie

  Blue Jay

  Common Merganser

  California Gull

  Mountain Bluebird

  Steller’s Jay

  Lewis’s Woodpecker

  Golden Eagle

  Bald Eagle

  Trumpeter Swan

  Gray Jay

  Song Sparrow

  Clark’s Nutcracker

  Red-naped Sapsucker

  Sharp-tailed Grouse

  Red Crossbill

 Sage Thrasher

Some of them are so common, just not common in Texas.
