Port Aransas

Half a US Highway day today. We headed south for South Llano River State Park. Buffalo Gap, Tuscola, Winters, Ballinger, Paint Rock, Eden, Menard, Junction. Highway 83 all the way. We thought we’d be done about then, but we had good momentum, so we kept going and drove some Interstates. We turned left on Interstate 10 to head for Choke Canyon State Park. Segovia, Kerrville, Comfort, Boerne. We threaded our way through San Antonio and popped out on Interstate 37. South to Three Rivers and the state park, but by the time we got to Three Rivers, we were only an hour and a half from the beach. Another night at the forest or on to the beach? We chose the beach. Gulf Waters RV Resort. Mustang Island. Five miles south of Port Aransas.

We’re home to our winter home, and it’s not even winter here yet. 82 degrees, blue skies, and a light breeze. Late tonight, it’s cooled all the way down to 77.
