Arizona

It was a good birding trip to Arizona a couple weeks ago. We picked up eleven new birds. We got the gnatcatcher trifecta: blue-gray, black capped, and black tailed, the last two new for us. They’re all really tiny charming birds. We chased down the ruddy ground dove. Won’t find those very far from the border. Got the violet crowned hummingbird, a spectacular bird. Dusky flycatcher, gray flycatcher, noisy mexican jays, brewer’s sparrow, rufous winged sparrow, and lazuli bunting.

We got to stay at Karchner Caverns State Park outside Sierra Vista, surrounded by bushes and birds.
